How First Coast Lawmakers Voted on Budget
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- It was a bipartisan vote, with dissent and support from both sides of the aisle, and First Coast lawmakers were also split on passage of the nation's budget.
The House of Representatives today voted 260-167, with six not voting, to pass the Department of Defense and Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011, the same bill that was agreed upon only an hour before the government was set to partially shut down for lack of funding.
Republicans, who control the House, supported the bill 179-81, and Democrats opposed it 108-59.
