JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Fuel rates for JEA customers will indeed be decreasing on July 1 and the scheduled water/sewer rate increases will not go into effect.
On Tuesday, JEA's Board of Directors approved a fuel rate decrease and an elimination of the water/sewer rate increases that were scheduled for October 1. These were recommended by the JEA Finance and Audit Committee in May.

The variable fuel rate will be lowered from $47.74 to $43.60 per megawatt hour. Customers who use an average of 1,250 kWh should see their bill decrease by $5.18, according to a release from JEA Media Coordinator Gerri Boyce.
Customers' water/sewer savings will include:
• Monthly Service Availability Charges: $3.80 for 5/8" metered service or $5.70 for a ¾" metered service
• Environmental Charges - $1.56/month for 6000 gallons/month usage for $0.13/1000 gallons for each for water and sewer.
