Grandmother's Stolen Rolex Leads to Store Bust
News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police said that a store is likely to close after
one grandmother's stolen items led police to discover a series of possible
violations of state regulations.

According to Jacksonville Sheriff's Office deputy Tommy Herrington, a Jacksonville grandmother reported several items missing from her home, including a Rolex watch.

Herrington said that the woman's grandmother, who had a key to her home, has been arrested for grand theft in the disappearance of the items.

Police said the items had been pawned around town, including being sold to the Gold Buyers Direct store at 12405 North Main St. in Jacksonville, where the granddaughter said she had sold the watch for less than $700.

However, at the store, police said they found the store had not kept any paperwork for its transactions.

Herrington said the store likely will be closed down and the owners arrested. Police are not releasing the names of the granddaughter or the store owners at this time.
