News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police are trying to figure out who shot a 16-year-old on the Northside Wednesday night.

According Sgt. Michael Paul, someone shot the teen in the face at about 8:20 p.m.

The teen was in a home located in the 1600 block of Brook Forest Drive at the time of the shooting, Paul said.

John Bracey, a spokesperson for Jacksonville Fire and Rescue, said the teen went to the hospital in serious condition.

An email alert from Sgt. Joseph Fooshee at JSO said homicide detectives responded to the scene as well.

Police have spoken to a bunch of witnesses, but so far Paul said they have no suspects.  Several witnesses reported seeing a man walk into the apartment where the teen was shot.
