Jacksonville National Cemetery Celebrates Phase-one Completion


The Phase-One Completion Celebration at the Jacksonville National Cemetery will be conducted at the Cemetery Complex located on 4083 Lannie Road just north of the Jacksonville International Airport on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.

Volunteers Needed for Pride on the Northside Cleanup

The City of Jacksonville Keep Jacksonville Beautiful Commission is calling for volunteers to participate in Pride on the Northside, a neighborhood beautification and litter cleanup project focusing on the Lem Turner area between I-95 and the Trout River bridge. The event will be Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and volunteers can sign in and collect bags and gloves at The Church Fellowhsip parking lot at 8808 Lem Turner Road.

Boorito is Back: Chipotle Hosts Halloween Fundraiser & Launches Short Film to Benefit Farm Aid


Chipotle Mexican Grill  will raise up to $1 million to benefit family farmers through its annual “Boorito” Halloween fundraiser. Customers visiting any Chipotle restaurant in the US, Canada and the UK on Monday, October 31st from 6 p.m. to close dressed in a costume inspired by the family farm will be treated to a burrito, order of tacos, salad, or burrito bowl for only $2, and Chipotle will donate proceeds (up to $1 million) to Farm Aid and the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation.

Join us for nine nights of fun in the Lands of Enchantment! The Zoo comes alive with hundreds of pumpkins, candy and excitement!  Enjoy trick-or-treating, music, dancing, food, giant slides and bounce houses and also see some of your favorite zoo animals.  Visit with the fairies, wizard, pirates, scarecrows, frog prince, and many more!  
Also, ‘fraidy-cats beware! This year, we continue with three scare zones that are not recommended for the faint-at-heart.  

Don’t miss Jacksonville’s premier family Halloween event!

Gates open from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Zoo closes at 10:00 p.m.
Tickets are $8 for members, $10 for non-members.

Arlington Community Garden Planting of the Fall Food Pantry Garden

Arlington Community Garden invites the garden curious to come out and help put in the fall food pantry garden. They will have lots of seedlings to put in and would appreciate your help in their support of the Arlington Community Services' Food Pantry.
