Thieves Steal Oodles of Rum

Thieves made off with a cargo container loaded with 960 cases of Bacardi Rum and other alcoholic beverages over the weekend.

According to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, the container packed with over $67,000 worth of alcoholic beverages is one of four that was broken into between 6:00 p.m. on Friday and 6:00 a.m. on Monday at Spectrum Logistics.

Suspects cut a hole in a barb wire fence that surrounds Spectrum Logistics to gain entry, giving them access to a parking lot. Once inside the fence, suspects moved security cameras around to conceal their activities. Additionally, suspects cut locks off several containers and cut open boxes to catch a glimpse of the cargo before coming across the Bacardi and driving off with the 45-foot-tall metal Sea Star Line container and trailer.
